Summer Curriculum –  Individualized Programs

Every child who comes to Harmony House’s summer school is given the individualized attention that is needed to specifically address their needs.  Individualized assessment and program planning is provided prior to the commencement August classes.  Instructors will make any necessary adaptations to ensure that each child is able to learn to the best of their abilities. The Summer School is geared to children in grades 1-5. School will run 4 half days a week from 9:30-12:30 pm with one instructor and one assistant.  The class size has a maximum of 10 children.  Children who require support may either submit an outside person for approval by HH and a current criminal record check is needed.  A written report will be provided at the end of August for each student highlighting areas targeted and areas that may require further support. 

 

Who: Children in grades 1-5

When: August 4-27th   (classes are Monday – Thursday with the exception of August 3rd when classes will run Tuesday- Friday)

Cost: $800 for 4 weeks

 

About the Instructors    

Kelley Lloyd-Jones is a graduate of the Rehabilitation Service program from Lethbridge Community College and has over 13 years experience working in the field of ABA and education support.  Bonnie Davis joins Kelley this year with over 6 years experience working with children with autism and a degree in Psychology from Simon Fraser University.    Together both individuals have worked with a range of children diagnosed with ASD from 2 years to 26 years of age and a range of abilities. Their experience is in both home and school settings, with particular focus on behaviour support and curricular adaptations and alternative teaching styles.
