Our goal is to educate the families and grow the children’s capabilities beyond regular school curriculum.

Clinical Services

Harmony House is pleased to offer in-home ABA treatment programs for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Aspergers Syndrome and PDD NOS. Each child’s treatment program is based on individual assessment and identified goals which are generated in collaboration with the family and routed in the science of applied behaviour analysis. Programs are designed to address not only language development, cognitive skills and academics, but also includes school readiness skills, play, social skills, self care and most importantly generalization.

Various monthly clinical supervision models are offered and reviewed with families during our intake process.

Summer Preschool

Harmony House will be offering summer preschool Monday-Friday for 3 weeks from July 13-31st and is open to all interested families. Weekly themes including princes and princesses will be provided by highly trained preschool staff.  ALL SPACES ARE NOW FULL.

Social Squad

Harmony House is pleased to announce the addition of social skills groups to the services we now offer. These are groups designed for children ages 5-12 and offer three levels of focus; Social Squad – Detectives, Social Squad – Superflex, Social Squad – Power Hour.

Emphasis is on building social skills in all children. The curriculums used are designed to breakdown social awareness in self and others and identifying key elements of the social codes present among children. These groups are designed to be small in numbers to provide all participants with the one-to-one attention they may require.

We have successfully completed our first year and are embarking on year two of these groups, with the explantion now from these groups now offered not only in White Rock but now also in Vancouver. Please see attachments below for further detail about each group.

Homework Club

The objective of this group is to provide a platform for children aged 6-10 years with an avenue to generalize behavioural, learning and social strategies in a more natural environment.  The intent is touch on both individual and group activities to provide children diagnosed with autism with opportunity to learn to utilize strategies in a group setting where they are able brainstorm and work off of each other.

By-weekly classes to start up mid September 2010.

Individualized assessment for goodness of fit and program planning provided for each participant prior to them joining the group.  Instructors will make any necessary adaptations to ensure that each child is able to learn to the best of their abilities.
